Jonathan M. Herbst is a graduate of the University of Delaware (B.A., Biology, 1999) and the University of Maryland School of Law (J.D., 2003). While in law school, Jonathan served as articles editor on the student editorial board of The Business Lawyer. During his third year of law school, Jonathan interned at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission in Washington D.C., where he aided in the prosecution of white collar crimes, including financial fraud and insider trading. Prior to joining Royston, Mueller, McLean & Reid, LLP in November, 2007, Jonathan worked as an associate attorney at DeLeonardo, Smith & Associates, where he practiced criminal defense and represented various small businesses. Jonathan now focuses his practice on business and real estate transactions, as well as business and commercial litigation. He represents businesses in all aspects of entity formation, operation and sale, including the drafting and negotiation of commercial leases, employment contracts, organizational documents, asset purchase agreements and stock purchase agreements. Jonathan also helps business owners protect their intellectual property by registering trademarks with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. In addition, Jonathan represents lending institutions in mortgage loan workouts, bankruptcy and foreclosure proceedings.

While attending law school, Jim Shea worked as a law clerk and summer associate for a medium-sized firm in Baltimore in general litigation.  After graduating from law school, Jim served for 12 months as law clerk to the Honorable Kathleen G. Martha K. White has been an associate at Royston, Mueller, McLean & Reid, LLP since 2007.  Her practice concentrates on family law disputes, pre- and post-nuptial agreements, general civil litigation, and estates and trust work.  While attending law school, Martha held several law clerk positions in the Baltimore area and also practiced as a Rule 16 student attorney at the University of Baltimore Tax Clinic.  Upon graduation from law school, Martha served as law clerk to the Honorable Louis A. Becker of the Circuit Court for Howard County.

While attending law school, Sam Crystal clerked for a medium-sized law firm in Baltimore County focusing on insurance defense and family law and also practiced for one year as a Rule 16 student attorney at the University of Baltimore Family Law Clinic. Upon graduating from law school in 2008, Sam worked for a large public interest law firm for two years litigating large case loads of family law matters in Baltimore City as well as Montgomery, Prince George’s, Howard and Baltimore Counties. Sam joined Royston, Mueller, McLean & Reid, LLP, in 2011 and primarily focuses his practice on all areas of family law disputes.

Robert F. Miller

While attending law school, Bob served as law clerk for a small general practice law firm in Baltimore County. After graduating from law school, Bob served as a law clerk for the Honorable Patrick Cavanaugh in the Circuit Court for Baltimore County. Bob joined the firm in October of 2011 as part of the firm's business law practice group.
